Frequently asked questions.
We’re so glad you’re considering a tour with us. Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to help!
Why choose Experience Umpqua Tours?
We care about your experience! We’re great planners, excellent communicators, and have built wonderful relationships with our community partners. Whether you want us to curate the day or provide safe, reliable transportation for your own itinerary, we handle the details so you can relax and enjoy. We are commercially insured, properly permitted, and enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy for safety.
How long do tours typically take?
All wine tours have a 4-hour minimum. We spend 1 hour and 30 minutes at each stop. Most tours run about 5 hours, depending on your pick up and drop off location, itinerary and preferences.
What’s included in the tour?
Every tour includes:
Custom itinerary building & reservations
Comfortable transportation
Bluetooth connection or tailored playlist
Bottled water & light snacks
"Survival kits" with Liquid IV, Advil, ginger candies, and mints
We also provide a cooler for your purchases and space for personal items.
Are tasting fees included?
Tasting fees are not included. Many wineries waive fees with minimum bottle purchases — and we pass those savings on to you! This approach encourages you to explore and enjoy the wines without pressure.
What should we bring?
A sense of adventure
Weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket, sunscreen, etc.)
A valid ID
Payment method for tasting fees and purchases
What payment types are accepted?
We accept Cash and Credit Card payments. All online booking credit card payments will be charged 4.9% and $0.30 for booking and processing. A $50 deposit is due to secure your date. Any remaining balance will be charged to the card on file the morning of the tour, or you can request to pay the balance in cash.
What if we need to cancel?
To reserve your tour date with Experience Umpqua LLC, a $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit secures your group’s reservation and will be applied toward the total cost of your tour.
Cancellations must be made at least 3 days (72 hours) before your scheduled tour for a refund of any amount paid beyond the $50 deposit.
Cancellations made within 3 days of the tour will not be eligible for a refund.
If you need to cancel within 3 days of your tour, please contact us by email at info@experienceumpqua.com or call us directly at 541-238-3023.
We can reschedule your tour date up to 6 months in advance - please contact us!
What vehicle do we ride in?
Our "Wine Wagon" is a 2019 Nissan NV 3500 12-passenger van. We limit tours to 10 guests for enhanced comfort and to provide room for purchases. The van is fully climate-controlled and maintained to the highest standard.
Can we drink alcohol in the van?
For the best tasting experience, we recommend not consuming alcohol between stops. Most guests find they enjoy the full flavor profile of wines more when not mixing beverages on the road. There is a $200 cleaning fee for any excessive cleaning - please visit our Terms of Service
Do you have wine storage?
Yes! We provide a cooler for your wine purchases. For large orders, we may be able to store and transport depending on your group size. We also offer local pickup and drop-off for bulk wine orders for an additional fee.
Is lunch provided? Can we bring outside food?
We provide light snacks. Let us know in advance if your group would like to bring a picnic or have lunch. We’re happy to include stops that allow for picnics or provide lunch options. We’re happy to accommodate providing a picnic lunch at an additional cost - Just ask!
Do you offer tours outside of wine tasting?
Yes! We love customizing unique experiences like brewery hops, farm tours, seasonal events, and themed excursions. Let us know your interests — we’ll help you build a one-of-a-kind adventure.
Do you offer multi-day tour discounts?
Yes! Contact us for a customize quote.
Do you operate year-round?
Yes, we operate in all seasons! Wine country is beautiful year-round, and many of our partners are open regardless of weather. We adjust our hours and recommendations based on the season for the best experience. We are closed for winter break between Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.
